Mission

The society’s mission is to promote and enhance the practice of epidemiology to strengthen Ghana’s public health system.

What are our objectives ?

The organization aims to achieve the following objectives:
i. Contribute to the training of epidemiologists with the requisite competencies.
ii. Support members in advancing their skills and expertise in the practice of epidemiology
iii. Contribute to strengthening the public health system in Ghana
iv. Provide technical guidance in response to public health emergencies and events
(epidemics, pandemics, natural and man-made disasters)
v. Support institutions and organizations in the development, implementation, and
evaluation of health programs
vi. Share lessons learned with relevant stakeholders to strengthen the health system
vii. Drive research and innovation to improve human, animal, and environmental health

What will we do to achieve our objectives ?

SoGE intends to achieve its objectives by carrying out the following activities :
i. Provide the platform for curriculum development, mentorship, workshops, and seminars.
ii. Provide the platform for engaging relevant stakeholders to address public health issues of national and international concern.
iii. Capacitate health-related NGOs through workshops, seminars, and consultancies in the design, implementation, and evaluation of their programs.
iv. Organize biannual epidemiological conferences to drive research and innovation and
share relevant research findings.
